7 months

On March 16 Chance was 7 months old.

My sweet boy is growing so fast!  At his check-up this month, he weighed just over 20 pounds and was 23 inches tall.  He has consistently been in the 75th percentile for height and weight.  When I was asking the doctor about his formula/solid food intake he told me not to change a thing...clearly Chance is eating plenty :).
Whether he is bouncing in his exersaucer, sitting on the floor, or rolling around in his crib, Chance loves to play.  He is getting better and better with sitting up and can easily reach for toys without falling over.  A new development this  month is that he will get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth.  Still no crawling, but he is getting soo close!  His sleep schedule has been up and down.  For a few weeks he was down to one feeding and was sleeping nice long stretches.  Then, he got a yucky cold.  Poor thing had fever, a runny nose, and has been so stuffy.  It really is the first time he has been sick.
A more fun "first" this month was Chance's first play date.  We went and played with a friend from church.  Her little girl is just about 10 days younger than Chance.  They were so cute together!
Here is a picture of Chance at around 7 days old followed by him at 7 months.  It is hard to even remember him being so little!

Afternoon Stroll

We have had some really nice weather lately, so Chance and I have been outside every day we can!  Today was sunny and 70 so we took full advantage.  Once Chance finished his afternoon bottle, we headed out the door.

Now that he can sit well unsupported I don't have to use the car seat with the stroller.  He loves being able to face forward and look around.

Chance was especially excited on our stroll today and "talked" most of the time.

I love our neighborhood because there are sidewalks everywhere, lots of parks, shops, etc.  We were out and about for a couple of hours today and it was so nice!  I even stopped by the grocery store to pick up part of our dinner tonight.  It is great to be able to walk everywhere... post office, bank, grocery, especially on gorgeous days like today.

Usually Chance will nap in his stroller without any problem.  I can lean the seat back where he's almost laying down so it works great.  Today was a different story.... I think he was so keyed up from our long walk that he just didn't want to sleep.  He was playing, laughing, and looking at all the people around, but I knew he was getting tired.  It was also pretty bright out today so I think that also made it difficult for him.  Anyway, I thought if I took him out of the stroller and calmed him down a little that I could lay him back down so he could sleep and I could finish my walk to the store.  WRONG! :)  The second I put him in the stroller he cried and cried.  Thankfully I knew there was a bench on the sidewalk close to where we were.  We walked over and I got situated where he was out of the sun.  Chance has napped many different places... crib, swing, car seat... but park bench in our neighborhood has to be the most unconventional nap spot so far!  He got a quick nap in and we were on our way.

I am so thankful for the mild winter and the nice warm weather we have had lately.  Chance and I love being outside and are looking forward to spring!
