He is risen! He is risen indeed!
We had a wonderful Easter weekend. Our weekend was nice and relaxing. I had big plans for us to dye eggs on Saturday, more for pictures than for Chance to actually take part.
Too bad I bought BROWN eggs. That's right, I bought brown eggs for us to dye. Even worse, I didn't realize it until after I had boiled the eggs and gotten the dye ready. John still had to point it out to me! So, needless to say we did not actually dye the eggs!!
Sunday morning we went to church and it was packed. I loved seeing the altar with the tulips and lilies, and everyone dressed in their bright spring clothes. Chance looked so handsome in his blue and white smocked jumper (thanks Marge and Big D). Too bad the only picture I have is on our actual camera, which will not turn on at the moment. It is probably the one time in Chance's life that I haven't taken about a hundred pictures on my phone! So you will have to take my word that we have a cute family picture of the three of us in our Easter best.
We had so much fun when Mommo came to visit! John had a conference in Chicago from Sunday-Thursday, so Mommo came from Monday-Friday that week. I was so glad for her to come to Boston so we could show her around and I was also glad for some help with John gone all week.
Chance and I took Mommo around our neighborhood and showed her some of our favorite shops and places to eat.
On Tuesday we went to the North End for lunch and to walk around. This is one of our favorite places in the city. The weather was perfect so we enjoyed strolling along the Freedom Trail and checking out the sights.

Chance needed a bottle so we went into Maria's for some coffee and cannolis.... yum yum!
We then headed over to Quincy Market for some shopping. Mommo bought Chance his first baseball cap (Red Sox, of course!).
Wednesday was a busy day. Chance had a doctor's appointment that morning. I was excited for Mommo to see the hospital and to meet Chance's doctor (who we love!). After that we strolled home and stopped into Dunkin Donuts for a mid-morning treat. You can't come to Boston without going to Dunkin! Later that afternoon we went to Newbury Street. We did some window shopping and then made our way into the Life is Good store. After Mommo treated Chance and I to some new gear, we headed to Stephannie's for an early dinner. Lee met us for dinner and we enjoyed the beautiful weather by eating outside on the patio. We had a great time!
Thursday we went to the Public Garden and also strolled down the rest of Newbury Street. That night we had dinner at one of our favorite places down the street from our apartment. John flew in that night...we were glad to have him home!
Friday came way too quickly! We met John for lunch before taking Mommo to the airport. The week could not have been any better. It was so nice to show Mommo around the city and for her to see where we are day-to-day and I think the weather was the nicest it's been all spring! I loved all the time that Chance and I got to spend with her and I'm thankful she made the trip up here to spend the week with us.
