Chance's First Friend

Before we left for MS, we had to say goodbye to our good friends Katie, Ben, and Ellie, because they were moving.  We met them through our church and Chance and Ellie are only a couple weeks apart.

First play date (Jan/Feb)

Chance and Ellie were in the nursery together on Sundays during church and Thursday mornings during Mom Connection.
We also got together for play dates almost every week.

We loved going to the park, strolling, or playing at each other's house.

Last play date (June)

So sad to say goodbye.... we miss yall so much!!

10 and 11 months

Since I'm very behind on blogging, I decided to just group the past two months into one big post.
Chance was 10 months old on the Saturday before Father's day and we left for our 5 week stay in Meridian on the following Monday.

His 11 month "birthday" was while we were at the beach after LA and Rae's double wedding (more on the beach and wedding later).

My sweet boy has grown and changed so much over the past two months.  He finally has two bottom teeth!  But, no worries... his lack of teeth have not slowed him down in the eating department.  At his last doctor's appointment in early June, we got the green light for all table food and Chance is absolutely loving it!  His favorites are still fruits and veggies... strawberries, sweet potatoes, blueberries, to name a few, but he has gotten to try all sorts of new foods.  We also have been working on drinking water from a sippy cup with each meal and throughout the day.

We are no longer doing the "army crawl".  He is on his hands and knees and the boy can move.  Chancey also is pulling up, moving along the furniture while holding on, and is still in to everything.  He has to have a constant eye on him at all times!!

He is learning all kinds of new things.  He loves to wave at people as we are strolling, stick his tongue out, high-five, blink, etc.

We had an absolute blast spending so much of the last two months in Meridian.  Chance and I both were spoiled!! I know it was hard on John, but the time at home during all the pre-wedding festivities was such a blessing and is a time I will never forget.

Happy Father's Day!

We had a fun Father's Day weekend.  The weather was beautiful so we went to both of John's soccer games and cheered him on.  We also had dinner Friday night and a fun trip to Best Buy.
Chance is lucky to have such a great dad!  I am so thankful for all he does for our family.

We love you!!

NSTAR Walk

The NSTAR Walk is a big fundraiser for Boston Children's Hospital.  This was our first year to participate and we had so much fun!  We were proud to be part of the Pediatric Transplant Center's team.

It was a beautiful day and the weather couldn't have been any better.  There were lots of tents set up with food, drinks, and free things like bubbles, cups, sunscreen, etc.  They estimated around 5,000 people in attendance...friends and families of patients, employees, and people in the community, all there to support such a wonderful hospital.

The walk was along the Charles River, with a 2 mile or 7 mile course.  Chance and I opted for the 2 mile route!

We had a fun day all while supporting a great cause!

Fun with LA

When Chance and I dropped off Brian and Melinda at the airport, we picked up Laura Anne!  We were so excited to have a week with Lou Lou!  This was her third trip to Boston but there were still some things that she had never done, so we made sure to mark a few off her list.

First off, we hit up Newbury Street.  I was excited to be a part of some wedding shopping.  We spent lots of time looking for rehearsal dinner, bridesmaids luncheon, and really any other outfit that could be worn to a wedding event.  We also had dinner (thanks Big D) at one of our favorite restaurants, Stephannie's.

Laura Anne had never been to the North End.  So, we walked around Faneuil Hall, down Hanover street, and had dinner with Lee at Panza.  It was delicious!  We also had cannolis for dessert...yummm!

And finally, on Thursday night we went to a Red Sox game.  I was a little worried about how Chance would do considering his bedtime is 7 and the game was at 7:10..... well my little man did great!  We all had a blast and the Red Sox actually won!

Yawkey Way before the game

On the way home, about 10:00, still going strong!

While all of that was lots of fun, we also enjoyed being lazy and hanging around our apartment.  Chance got lots of play time with LA and she was able to see my wild child in rare form.
It was so nice to have a week with Lou Lou all to our self.  Can't wait to be home for a month to get ready for the big wedding day!

A Visit from Friends

Brian and Melinda came to visit for a long weekend and we had a great time!  It was their first trip to Boston, so John and I had fun showing them around.  We enjoyed doing some "touristy" things, as well as just hanging out at our apartment.  A few things we did throughout the weekend included: Sam Adams Brewery tour, dinner in the North End, walked part of the Freedom Trail, Harvard, Top of the Hub, Revolution Soccer game, the Science Museum, and much more!  Here are a few pics from their visit:

Chance loved "Uncle" Brian!

Grandparents and a concert

Pops and CC came to visit for Memorial Day weekend.  They came into town Wednesday and left Monday and we had a great time!  While they were here, John and I took a quick trip to Hartford, CT, with some friends to see Dave Matthews.  We really appreciated Pops and CC for letting us do this!  Chance had lots of fun while we were gone....

Mama and Daddy had lots of fun, too!  Thankfully Chance is pretty much past his separation anxiety days and it didn't even phase him when we left.  John and I enjoyed seeing Sumon and Amber and having a weekend getaway including two DMB shows.

We had a great time with Pops and CC.  It was fun showing them our favorite parks, visiting the Science Museum, and having some delicious meals.

Also, while they were here, Pops helped baby proof the apartment.  He and John fixed up our deck and Pops put together Chance's baby gates/play pens.  We REALLY REALLY appreciated that!! And as you can see from the picture below, Chance enjoys having his own little spot to play.

Thanks again Pops and CC for everything!  We had a great time with y'all.
